How to extract zip archive files with Blueftp on your phone.

Introduction: One of the usefulness of Blueftp from its vast function is the extraction of an archive file. Just as we have different extension format for images, music and applications such as .jar, .jpg, .png, .mp3, .mp4, .jpeg, .sis, .sisx, .3gp, and so on. We also have some extension format of which they are used for file compression. Of all this extension, we shall emphasize on .zip extension format. Some other extension format for file compression includes: .rar, .gz, e.t.c.
At the end of this tutorial, you shouldn’t find it difficult to extract files using Blueftp.

Requirements: An archive file – for this purpose, a zip archive file is required, Blueftp or any other file explorer application. Click HERE to download Blueftp.

NOTE: Not all file compression extension format can Blueftp extract i.e WinRar is used to extract .rar extension format and the same thing apply to other extension.

Method: Create a new folder to avoid mix – up of files. You can create the folder either on the Phone Memory (C:/) or Memory Card (E:/). Now the zip file should be ready on your phone. First, you need to set the permission of the Bluetooth application to access your data. Locate the Blueftp application where you downloaded it, press option and scroll down to App. Access. Click on it and scroll down to Data access. Click on Add and edit data then select Ask every time – If your device does not support ‘Always allowed’ or ‘Ask first time only’.

Now open the blueftp application. It will prompt you to put on the Bluetooth but for security purpose, press NO. It will prompt you again ’Allow application to read data in: …’ press yes whenever it brings up this message to you. Locate the folder where you save the zip archive file and click on the file.
On clicking the archive file, it will open up a folder which will contain some content depending on what is packed in the folder. Press the Menu button and scroll down until you see Select All then click on it. You can also use the * and # key to highlight the contents.

After selecting all the contents, press 1 (shortcut key for copying) on your phone's keypad and locate the new folder you created. Open the folder and press 3 (shortcut key for pasting) to paste the contents you,ve extracted or copy. It will prompt you to access your data, press yes and continue pressing on the process is done. There it is, you've extracted the contents in the zip archive file.

Warning/Tips:

  • When the Blueftp application prompt you to access your data, make sure you know the function it want to execute i.e You mistakenly click on the delete button.
  • During extraction of the zip contents, be patient enough to click yes when it is required. Being too fast in responding to the command might cancel the process.
